Paris Haute Couture Autumn Winter 2019-2020 just finished last week and I thought it would be a good time to see some of the most iconic looks of the season. Haute couture is one of my favourite seasons because of all the details and craftsmanship we can appreciate in the designs.
The inspiration for this collection was the rich Chinese and East Asian culture. As you can see, the designs feature imperial style embroidered motifs, mandarin collars and kimono inspired silhouettes to project flowing, but powerful movements. My favourite one is definitely the golden bridal gown that comprises all the elements of the collection. You can see all the looks here.
Inspired by the relationship between couture and architecture, Maria Grazia Chiuri presented an almost all-black collection to adorn every type of body. She goes back to the foundations of haute couture to bring transformed pieces back to modern day. What I like about this collection are the soft details, like gauzes, feathers and the jewellery that compliment each look. You can see all the looks here.
Last but not least, the new haute couture collection from Valentino focuses on extravagance as the element to find individuality. Each of the designs form part of a parade of diversity and colour with details like, rhinestones, fringes, and sequins. We can also see flowing forms, ruffles, oversized bows and feathers to portray opulence. I particularly loved all the details and colours on the coats. You can see all the looks here.
I hope you liked this short post about Paris Haute Couture Week. All these dresses make me want to have more events where I can dress like that. Don’t forget to tell me which one is your favourite and follow me on Instagram to check more of my pictures.
Have a great week! Xoxo
